You see some faces, Bright with cheer, While other faces, Are down and dreary. You sometimes look around, At church, And see both faces, And you don’t know, What to make of it. You think to yourself, Joy isn’t just, A smiling face, Or a cheerful grin, Or even a smile hiding a frown, It’s not a handshake, Or a big bear hug, It’s not even a kiss on the cheek, Or a happy hello. So you wonder, As we all wonder, What is real joy? Real joy, Is the love of God, Flowing out of you, Like a fountain. Joy is when you think, About God and His wonderful love, While you listen to birds, Sing in the trees. Joy, Real joy, Is when, The Holy Spirit, Burst out of you, With all of the happiness, In the World. Joy is, Singing praises to God, With all your heart, in Spirit, As well as in Truth, In the worst, As in the best situations. Joy, Real Joy, Is something all of us need, But don’t always want, We should strive for real joy, And then God will use us. -By: Daniel Brockhan
